MDM Bank is a leading independent provider of banking services in Russia, comprised of two main banking units: Corporate Banking & Investment Banking (CIB), which encompasses Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Financial Markets, Private Banking, Asset Management and Leasing; as well as Retail Banking, which includes Consumer and Small Business Banking. Approximately half of Russia's top corporations are MDM Bank clients, and for individual clients and small business banking, MDM Bank provides a network of over 185 points-of-sale in 75 cities.
Established in December 1993, MDM Bank is currently one of Russia’s largest privately owned financial institutions and is one of the four largest privately-owned banking groups in Russia. Despite a challenging operating environment, the Bank’s results show that banking in Russia can be a sustainable and profitable business based on financial intermediation between non-related parties.
Our financial strength is underscored by credit ratings: MDM Bank shares the highest credit ratings among privately-owned Russian banks.
A strong corporate governance program guides all the Bank's operations. The Bank is the first and only Russian bank to be awarded a public Corporate Governance Score (CGS) of 6+ (international scale) from S&P, which ranks MDM third in Russia behind NYSE-listed corporates Mobile Telesystems and Wimm-Bill-Dann. We have initiated a range of measures aimed at achieving best practices in international corporate governance, including the creation of a simple and transparent legal structure and the delineation of ownership and management functions. We also issue quarterly financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
